Peer assessment based assignment to enhance interactions in online learning groups

In this paper, we report on the findings from our PhD work on how peer assessment based assignment method can enhance interaction in online learning groups. The method is explored and tried out on the research methods course on the Bachelor of Commerce Programme which is run in distance learning mode at Makerere University. Peer-assessment using test exams in a Sakai-based e-learning platform

We report our work on the implementation of a learning innovation based on the combination of peer-assessment and formative learning. The methodology consists on the students themselves to propose, review and select questions for the subsequent creation of a "multiple choice" exam to assess their progress. The main objective is for the students, future teachers of French in secondary education, to use two different forms of evaluation to compare them with each other. A wiki task for first-year university students : the effect of scripting students' collaboration

Abstract This study investigates the effect of a collaboration script - i.e. a set of instructions to improve collaboration between learning partners - for a wiki task. Participants were first-year university students in Educational Sciences ( N  = 186) collaborating in groups of five during a three-week period to create a wiki on peer assessment in education. Two conditions were contrasted: a scripted and a non-scripted condition. A Revised Short Form of the Extended Class Play Among Italian Early Adolescents

Among the measures assessing peer reputation, the Extended Class Play (ECP) is now used extensively in North American settings. Little information is available in other cultural contexts. Furthermore, practical considerations suggest developing a shorter form of the ECP to be used in socio-educational environments. This study examined the ECP dimensions of peer assessment in Italy as well as developed a shorter form of the measure. We revised the ECP using factor analyses according to an explorative-confirmatory approach.
